My Hacks For Fine And Thin Hair That You Can Do

Many of us have fine thin hair and we wish it had more volume and looked thicker and fuller. There are many advantages to having thin hair. One of which is drying time is almost nonexistent. Thin hair dries quickly. But one of the biggest disadvantages of having thin hair is lack of volume. Thin hair lies down very flat. Unless it is full of static electricity, right? But that is another problem altogether. So here they are, my hacks to get you fuller thicker hair.

1. Back-comb Fine Hair Hack #1

Back-comb your hair using a teasing brush.

2. Products and Fine Hair

The use of too much styling product can make your fine hair lay flat. It can weigh your hair down. So be picky and use a volume lifting spray instead. One that I recommend and come to mind quickly is John Frieda Volume Lift Thickening Spray for Natural Fullness, Fine or Flat Hair Root Booster Spray, or CHI Volume Booster Liquid Bodifying Glaze.

3. Blow Dry Another Fine Hair Hack

Blow dry your hair upside down. And while bow drying uses a brush or comb to help make your hair stand up.

4. Wavy Hair Fine Hair Hack

Add some waves to your hair. A great product to use is the InStyler or a curling wand. Add waves and light curls to make your hair look fuller. I recommend using the InStyler MAX 1.25” 2-Way Rotating Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener & Styler to get your waves.

5. Dry Shampoo Fine Hair Hack

Another favorite of mine is to use dry shampoo to add more texture to fine hair. It can add a little lift as well. Just turn your head upside down and give your roots a few quick sprays to add more lift.

6. Highlights Hair Hack

For fine hair to look more textured you can simply add highlights. By adding different colors to your hair make it appear to have more texture and adds an extra dimension.

7. Round Brush For Thin Hair Hack

This is another one of my favorites. For thin hair, I always use a round brush to get more volume. Especially while blow-drying. My favorite is Batiste Dry Shampoo, Original Fragrance.

8. Shampoo Hair Hack For More Volume

Shampooing more often can strip away products that weigh down your hair. This will make your hair lighter and have more body. Just be careful not to overdo it. Two of my favorite products are Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Sulfate-Free Shampoo for Balance & High Shine, Daily Clarifying & Soothing Scalp Shampoo for Oily or Dull Hair, and Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo. Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream is a clarifying shampoo for all hair types and textures that removes product build-up, excess oil, and pollution residue in one use!

9. Thin Long Hair, Hairstyle

Next time you are at the salon try getting your long thin hair cut into a shorter style with more lift. Thin long hair, lays flat quickly. Shorter hair will create a more textured and voluminous look.

10. Layered Haircut Hack For Thin Hair

Next time you are at the salon ask your hairstylist for a layered cut to add more volume. Adding multiple layers to your hair giving you a fuller look and more shape to your hair.
