You may be asking what is the best hairbrush to tame frizz in your hair. Frizz and static is caused by lack of moisture in your strands, so if you are struggling with dry ends, your locks will expand to absorb hydration from the air. Winter time is good for creating the frizz because of all the dry hot air being circulated. You want a good high density bristle brush.
I love a brush for smoothing and eliminating frizz. A brush will grab more hair because of the higher concentration of bristles and with a little water tames frizzy hair. The most important thing to stopping frizzy hair is keep your hair moisturized and use a combination of a brush, water or even better anti static spritz. Do not rely on a bush alone to to remove frizzy hair.
Paddle Brush For Frizzy Hair
Use a paddle brush to smooth out frizzy hair. One of the best ways to quickly smooth frizz is with a paddle brush. Because of the larger brush head frizzy hair is smoothed out with less static friction. It’s great for long hair due to it covers 25% more than a regular brush with each brush stroke. Next use a spritz of water right before your brush to completely eliminate frizzy hair.
My top choice for the best overall hairbrush to smooth out frizzy hair is: Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion NanoThermic Styler Paddle Brush

How To Brush Hair Without Making It Frizzy?
Frizzy hair can be a sign of hair damage. If your hair cuticles are not smooth they could be damaged from too much heat, coloring or perms. Click to see my 18 solutions on how to tame frizzy hair forever.
Knowing how to brush your hair can make a big difference in the amount of frizz in your hair. Here are my top tips on how you can brush your hair with less frizz. Also consider using a ceramic hair dryer. It’s much better.
1. Use a spritz of water on your hair before brushing to eliminate any frizz
Dry hair is the worst for frizz. By adding a little moisture you can eliminate most if not all frizz from your hair. this is my go to method to eliminate frizzy hair. Plus, it free! you do not have to purchase any products.
2. Apply a small amount of leave in conditioner before brushing to eliminate frizzy hair
Leave in conditioner basically does the same thing as water. It adds back moisture to your hair thus eliminating dry frizzy hair conditions. I like this method when a little more control is needed to style hair.
3. Use a boar bristle brush to reduce frizzy hair
Boar bristles are great at grabbing your hair and flattening it out. Just make sure to go easy and slowly as not to cause more static and frizzy conditions.
4. Avoid over shampooing to eliminate frizzy hair
Many times I see and hear about folks who wash their hair every day. By over shampooing you can easily dry your hair to the point where you are promoting static electricity and frizzy hair. when you notice static conditions in your hair then immediately bask off on shampooing your hair. Experiment with stretching out the time between shampooing. this will give you hair time to recover between shampoos and not be so dry.
Common Hair Mistakes – Do you know that the way you care for your hair might vary greatly from person to person? It’s possible that what works for you in absolutely no way resembles what works for your friends. However, regardless of the type of hair they have or the precise regimen they follow, a lot of individuals make silly mistakes in their hair care that are fairly frequent.
Also, some shampoos are very strong and the length of time you leave them on your hair can make a big difference. By leaving some brands on your hair longer, it can strip hair of all it’s natural oils and leave your hair really dry. This happened to me on several occasions. I noted the brand of shampoo I was using and then reduced the time the shampoo stayed on my hair. This made a big difference and my hair was not completely stripped of all the natural oils.
5. Apply a deep conditioning mask to eliminate frizzy hair
If you know your hair is really dry and you are going to have the frizz then go ahead and apply a deep conditioner. You may want to apply a deep conditioner at least once a week if you know you have really dry hair. The deep conditioner will add back the needed moisture helping to eliminate your frizzy hair.
6. Use serums and creams to reduce frizzy hair
Serums and creams can be applied to just the really dry parts of your hair before brushing. this method works well to reduce and in many cases even eliminate frizzy hair. I like to apply serums and creams to the ends of hair. I have found that it’s usually the hair ends that are dry and need more attention. The only down side to this method is it’s usually more expensive.
According to Meesh, Hair Product Analyst, “In addition to a good hairbrush to fight frizzy hair conditions you also need a really good anti static spritz.” Most spritz will almost instantly eliminate flyaway conditions plus you get the extra benefits of natural nutriments for your hair. Many of the natural oil blends smooth and conditions your hair while fighting frizzy hair at the same time.

According to Stacey, Hair Research Analyst, “One of the best ways to combat the frizz is to add moisture back to your hair.” If you have long fine hair try using a hydrating conditioner or hair mask in the shower and stop using or consider removing drying alcohol-infused products. And of course choose the right brush, it can also make a huge difference. You might also be interested in “Best brush to avoid split ends” or “Does coconut oil help static hair“.

TIP: Most all plastic combs break when dropped on a hard surface or accidentally bumped into a hard object.
TIP: When using a thermal brush or hot air brush always start on the lowest heat setting you can to style your hair thus avoiding frizz and hot spot hair damage.
I am sure there are some really good brushes out there I left off the list so please let me know. Feel free to comment on what works for you and how much you paid. If this has been helpful please comment.
